šŸ’™ In Loving Memory of Scout šŸ’™

Our First Walker, Our First Guest, Our Forever Friend

Our hearts were torn into pieces by the devastating news of the unexpected passing of our beloved Scout. An Australian Shepherd with a spirit as bright as the morning sun, Scout held a deeply special place in our lives—and in the history of our journey as dog walkers. He was my very first dog in this work, and also our first boarding guest, spending the end of the year in our home, living with us, celebrating Christmas right by our side. From the very beginning, Scout wasn’t ā€œjust a client.ā€ He was family.

Scout carried a joy that was unmistakable—alive in his eyes, shining in that famous ā€œshepherd smile.ā€ Always ready for a walk, always eager for a game, yet at the same time, he had the steady seriousness of a true guardian. He watched over his walking buddies with quiet devotion, stepping in with gentle authority whenever the pack’s play grew a little too rough. That was Scout: joy and duty in perfect balance.

Faithful and obedient, he walked by my side as though we were tied together by an invisible leash of friendship and trust.

And even after I stopped walking with the pups and Solange took my place, Scout never forgot. Every time I met them at the park, all it took was my familiar whistle—and there he came, running toward me with that huge, heart-melting smile, leaping into my arms, asking (of course!) for a treat. Those moments were pure magic.

But Scout has now crossed the Rainbow Bridge. What remains are the memories—memories of walking with him under sunshine, rain, or snow… memories that now sit quietly in the space he once filled with life, warmth, and joy.

Our walks will never be the same. There will always be a silence where his bark once lived… a space where his paws used to trot… an emptiness that only a heart like Scout’s could leave behind.

Scout was a collector of hearts, a giver of love, a dog who never failed to make the world feel lighter. And he took a big piece of ours with him.

Run free, sweet Scout. We will love you forever. šŸ¾šŸ’™
