Our Policies

At Pawsitive Walkers, the safety, well-being, and happiness of every pup (and human!) is our top priority. Please take a moment to review our policies to ensure smooth paws and peaceful walks for all:

Dog Behavior & Training

We welcome friendly, well-socialized dogs who enjoy the company of others. For the safety of our walkers and all canine companions, we do not accept dogs who show aggression toward people or other dogs. All dogs must be leash-trained and responsive to basic commands. If a pup begins to show concerning behavior, we reserve the right to reassess their participation.

Vaccination Requirements

All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations as required by the state of Massachusetts, including rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and bordetella (kennel cough). Proof of vaccination is required before services begin and should be kept current.

Cancellations

Life happens—we get it! However, any cancellations must be made by 8:00 PM the evening before the scheduled walk. Cancellations made after that time will be charged at 100% of the regular walk rate.

Paid Holidays

We observe and charge for walks on designated paid holidays. The paid holidays are listed below. If services are requested on these dates, holiday rates will apply.

Weather Safety Policy

We walk rain or shine—but extreme weather conditions call for safety first. In the following situations, walks will be canceled but still charged in full, as our time is reserved for your pet:

Snowstorms with more than 6 inches predicted
Freezing rain or post-snow rain creating dangerous icy surfaces
Heavy rain exceeding 3 inches
Temperatures exceeding 95°F (35°C)

On hot days between 78°F and 80ºF, 90°F, walk duration will be reduced to 40 minutes, and when temperatures are between 91º and 95ºF, walk duration will be reduced to 30 minutes for the dogs’ health and comfort.
During severe cold, thunderstorms, or lightning, walks may be shortened or rescheduled at our discretion for safety.
